Our review methodology

Sir Trash Panda publishes clear product commentary to help you make better questionable purchases. We do not claim to physically test every product.

What informs a review

Our content pipeline may use retailer and manufacturer information, product specifications, pricing data, customer and review signals where legitimately available, and other public information. We turn that research into a plain-English verdict. If a product has been physically tested or supplied for review, that is stated on that individual review.

Trashcan scores

Scores are out of five trashcans and reflect the overall verdict: 5 is Exceptional; 4 - 4.9 is Recommended; 3 - 3.9 is Decent, with caveats; 2 - 2.9 is Difficult to recommend; and 1 - 1.9 means Leave it in the bin. The number is always shown alongside the rating visual.
